networking - Azure VNET to VNET Connection Cannot Connect to VM on Different VNET -

some of our developers having issues speed due cut undersea lines going country our vm datacenter. thought setup new virtual network located in different vm datacenter bypass , reroute traffic across faster network, faster network vm location. in theory - basically, how setup was:

phillipines hong kong

the new setup

phillipines west japan hong kong

in azure have 2 virtual networks gateways setup, 1 hong kong , 1 japan. have connected them using "connections" setting, creating connection , both eachother.

i setup the correct vpn keys - , downloaded new client japan vpn.

however, whenever connect japan vpn no longer able remote desktop vm's located in hong kong. dont appear have network security group settings should blocking this.

my virtual networks this:

vnhongkong address space: 10.1.0.0/24 10.10.0/16

vnhongkong subnets 10.10.10.0/24 gatewaysubnet 10.10.1.0/14

vnjapan address space 10.2.0.0/24 10.20.0.0/16

vnhongkong subnets 10.2.0.0/24 gatewaysubnet 10.20.1.0/24

i have both virtual networks above connected using virtual network gateway

honestly - i'm not anywhere near expert on this. have no idea i'm messing - i've followed online tutorials i'm stuck trying connect vms networks connected. please let me know if need more info.

the new setup be: phillipines west japan hong kong

for now, azure not support this.

because there no derived transitive relationship.

as workaround, can create vm in west japan, vm work jumpbox, use jumpbox connect phillipines.
